Had to modify the table creation script to get it to work for Derby when used with the ij tool (supplied with Derby). Basically I replaced:
replaced "long varbinary" with "blob"
replaced "longint" with "bigint"
deleted explicit "null" declarations ("not null"'s were unchanged)
